Barcelona star Andreas Christensen has on Friday provided an update on his future.
As much, of course, comes amid long-standing speculation pointing towards a potential summer exit from the Camp Nou for the Danish international.
Christensen, for his part, remains an integral member of the first-team setup at Barcelona, with his recent conversion into a deep-lying midfielder having only reiterated the importance of the former Chelsea man in boss Xavi’s setup.
With at least one high-profile sale expected to be on the cards at Barca in the summer, though, Christensen’s name has nevertheless been pushed as a potential sacrifice in the media.
Speaking in an interview with TV 2 Sport (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his plans beyond the summer was put to the 27-year-old himself.
And Christensen was quick to shut down any and all speculation surrounding his name.
Adamant that his future lies firmly in Catalunya’s capital, the versatile stopper explained:
“I’m not going anywhere at all. I knew where I was coming from when I signed up at Barça. I’m incredibly happy and I can’t think of anything other than staying here after the summer.”
