Álvaro Morata inching closer to a return to Italy

For Spain international Álvaro Morata, it seems as though he doesn’t quite like spending more than two seasons at any one club.

The last time he did so was in his early days at Real Madrid, before leaving the club in 2014 for his first stint in Italy with Juventus.

Since then, he has had another stint with The Old Lady, and if recent reports are to be believed, he looks set to have a third.

That is according to Diario AS anyway, who cite reports from Italy which indicate that the 31-year-old striker is set to return to Serie A once again.

This is off the back of one of the most prolific seasons of his career so far, which saw him score 21 goals in 48 appearances for Atlético Madrid, in an otherwise underwhelming season for the club.

The reports from Italy give a high level of confidence that Morata will return, however, he will have to take a pay cut in order to make the move happen.

In the meantime, Morata is likely fully focused on the job he has to do with the national team at Euro 2024 in Germany, which starts in just five days.
