Alexia Putellas becomes Barcelona’s all-time top scorer

Alexia Putellas spoke to DAZN after entering Barcelona Femení history by scoring her 182nd goal and becoming the top scorer in the club’s history.

“I’ve just been told, I didn’t really remember. I’m happy, especially with the three points because on this pitch they’re going to lose very few points,” said Putellas in quotes from MD after the club’s win over Atlético Madrid.

On surpassing Jenni Hermoso’s record of 181 goals for Barcelona, she said “It’s a privilege and a source of pride to be able to beat my team-mate Jenni. It was a privilege to play with her at the club.”

Asked about her new position as a false nine, Putellas added, “I’m learning… it’s an obvious change, and on top of that, I’ve been out for a year with a cruciate injury. I want to contribute to the team and help the club win. That’s the goal, I want to win all the titles this year. Learning a new position will make me even better.”
