Zinedine Zidane tests positive for COVID-19

Real Madrid have announced that head coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for COVID-19.

Madrid travel to Alavés on Saturday and the Frenchman will miss the trip, owing to the protocols in place. He will spend time self-isolating and will not return to the Madrid dugout until he has tested negative and spent the appropriate time in quarantine.

Zidane had to self-isolate earlier this month, ahead of Madrid’s game against Osasuna, after he came into contact with a COVID-19 case. Earlier this week, Real Madrid Castilla coach and legendary Spain striker Raúl also tested positive for the virus.
