Xavi spoke to Movistar+ after his side’s 3-3 draw with Inter on Wednesday.
“The Champions League is being cruel to us. Since Munich, in Milan and then tonight, we deserved more.
“The first half was excellent, we only conceded a chance to Dzeko. We were satisfied at half-time, but we conceded too much in the second half. We made serious defensive mistakes that are very costly in the Champions League. It’s not just about attacking, it’s also about defending,” Xavi said.
“We should have maintained the intensity of the first half and we didn’t do it. It’s out of our hands now and the Champions League is very difficult. Football is a game of mistakes and you have to minimise them.”
On El Clásico
“We’re going to change our mindset, prepare for El Clásico and think about the league, because the Champions League has become very complicated, it’s very difficult now,” he admitted.
