Xavi readying one final gesture to reaffirm love for Barcelona

Departing Barcelona head coach Xavi is ready to showcase his love and support for the Blaugrana cause one final time, upon moving on this summer.

That’s according to Relevo, who have on Friday evening provided an insight into the situation.

Xavi is for his part of course set to oversee his final outing as Barcelona boss this coming Sunday, against Sevilla.

This comes after the 44-year-old was this afternoon informed that he will be relieved of his duties on the touchline in Catalunya’s capital this summer.

A matter of weeks on from his continuation for next season being announced, Xavi has been shown the door, in a frankly classless gesture on the part of Joan Laporta, Deco and co.

And yet, in the face of as much, Xavi, it would appear, will continue to put the club before himself.

As per the aforementioned Relevo, the expectation is that the ex-midfielder will forgo the €12 million in wages on his contract for the 2024/25 campaign.

As much would come in a direct effort to aid Barcelona amid their ongoing financial struggles.

Xavi would like for his coaching staff to receive the wages owed to them in full, but this figure will pale in comparison to what the Spaniard himself is entitled to.

A touch of class from Xavi for a club who, if recent behaviour is anything to go by, don’t deserve it.
