A transfer-linked member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set to stay put through the close of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who point towards Dani Ceballos as the player in question.
Ceballos’ name has of course emerged as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Real Madrid over recent weeks.
This comes after the former Arsenal man’s struggles for game time at the Club World Cup gave rise to suggestions that he could be on the move over the weeks ahead.
Real Betis, for one, are known to boast a long-term interest in a reunion with Ceballos.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Thursday is anything to go by, then the door appears to have been slammed shut on any potential Ceballos transfer this summer.
As per a report from Cadena SER:
‘Real Madrid have informed Dani Ceballos that they are counting on him for next season. Xabi Alonso has played a key role in this deal, understanding that he is an important asset for the club.’
