Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen will play no part in the club’s upcoming La Liga clash with Girona.
As much was confirmed by Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso on Saturday.
Stopper Huijsen was for his part forced to sit out in midweek, after picking up a fitness problem en route to Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Elche last weekend.
The Spaniard’s issue was labelled a minor one, giving rise to suggestions that he could in turn be back in the thick of things against Girona tomorrow evening.
As alluded to above, however, this will not be the case.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Xabi Alonso was asked for an update on Huijsen’s status.
And the Spanish tactician went on to admit that:
“Dean Huijsen is not back yet. He needs some more time.”
Also a doubt to feature at the Estadi Montilivi on Sunday is another of Real Madrid’s defensive stars, in Raúl Asencio.
The 22-year-old is dealing with a sudden bout of illness, facing a late fitness test ahead of the fixture.
