Xabi Alonso hails two unsung Real Madrid heroes after win over Espanyol

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has moved to heap praise on two members of his midfield ranks, following the club’s latest outing.

This comes owing to their respective endeavours against Espanyol.

Real Madrid were of course back in action earlier this evening.

Shifting focus back towards matters on the domestic front following a midweek win over Marseille, Los Blancos welcomed Espanyol to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, the day’s hosts emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, to keep alive what has been a perfect start to the new campaign.

The game’s two goals came in spectacular fashion, courtesy of long-range strikes on the part of Éder Militão and Kylian Mbappé.

As alluded to above, though, post-match, it was another pair of players whom Xabi Alonso was keen to highlight the performances of:

“Tchouaméni and Valverde, once again, delivered a very strong performance and gave the team great control over the flow of the game.“
