Xabi Alonso faces one major selection dilemma for Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso is yet to make a final decision regarding one position in his XI for the club’s next outing.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action in two days’ time.

In the headline fixture of their campaign to date, Los Blancos will welcome arch rivals Barcelona to Spain’s capital, for a La Liga clash.

The bulk of the hosts’ line-up for the Clásico has already been decided, with manager Xabi Alonso keen not to shake things up too drastically.

One position still up for grabs, though, comes on the right flank.

Across the majority of the season to date, summer signing Franco Mastantuono has filled this role. In midweek against Juventus, however, it was Brahim Díaz who was favoured.

And the Moroccan’s lively display has left the coaching staff at Valdebebas facing something of a dilemma.

Mastantuono vs Brahim: The race is on to face Barcelona.
