A member of the summer recruitment drive at La Liga giants Real Madrid could be in line for his first-ever start in the club’s colours on Sunday.
The player in question? Franco Mastantuono.
Youngster Mastantuono is for his part of course fresh off taking to the pitch in the colours of Real Madrid for the very first time.
En route to Los Blancos’ opening day La Liga victory over Osasuna, the Argentine was introduced to proceedings off the bench during the 2nd-half.
And Mastantuono did not look at all out of place, thoroughly impressing onlookers with a composed performance at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Real Oviedo on Sunday, the possibility of Mastantuono being thrown into a starting berth was therefore put to manager Xabi Alonso.
And the Spanish tactician refused to rule out as much, in responding:
“Mastantuono starting tomorrow? He has chances to do so, like all other players…”
