Xabi Alonso angers Real Madrid fans with post-Girona comments

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has left the club’s supporters less than amused with his latest round of post-match comments.

This comes after the Spanish tactician continued to play down the seriousness of his side’s dip in form.

Real Madrid are of course fresh off another disappointing result on Sunday evening.

After making the trip to Catalunya to take on Girona, Los Blancos stuttered to an eventual share of the spoils, in a 1-1 draw.

This marked their third successive single-point haul in the Spanish top-flight, enough for Barcelona to close the weekend sitting pretty atop the table.

Speaking to the media post-match, Xabi Alonso was therefore drawn once more on what went wrong for his side tonight.

And the ex-midfielder was calm and composed in his response, assuring:

“We were better in the 2nd half. We lacked accuracy. But the season is still long. The table will change many times. We have the opportunity to get 3 points next game.”

These comments, however, have since not gone down well with the club’s fanbase.

Calling for more fight and passion from their side’s headmaster, Alonso has been accused of being altogether too passive, in his approach to fixtures, and media exchanges alike.
