Will Real Madrid appeal Dean Huijsen’s red card?

An insight into the plans of the brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid to respond to the red card handed to defensive star Dean Huijsen has on Sunday been forthcoming.

The name of youngster Huijsen of course took its place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines on Saturday night.

This came after the 20-year-old was given his marching orders during real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.

The decision proved a hugely controversial one, with Huijsen having been dismissed for a ‘last man challenge’.

Replays, however, showcased the fact that defensive partner Éder Militão was covering for the summer arrival in Xabi Alonso’s squad.

The widespread consensus, in turn, is that the call was a harsh one.

It should therefore not come as any major surprise to hear of the Real Madrid board preparing to appeal the red card.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Real Madrid are moving with full confidence in their appeal against
Dean Huijsen ‘s sending-off at Anoeta.’
