An explanation for the early withdrawal of Barcelona star Rodri from the club’s latest outing has been forthcoming online. And the news is likely to spark widespread concern amongst those of a Blaugrana persuasion.
Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action in the Champions League, in a League Phase meeting with Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
The aforementioned Rodri was afforded a starting berth for the evening, from his customary berth at the base of Barcelona’s midfield.
After seeing out the opening 45 minutes, however, the World Cup winner failed to emerge for the 2nd-half.
And as alluded to above, an explanation for precisely why has since come to the fore… The info comes courtesy of Spanish football insider Moises Llorens, who reports:
‘Rodri has discomfort in his right calf…’
A further update on the situation is expected post-match, ahead of Rodri being put through a round of medical scans at the Ciutat Esportiva over the days ahead.
