Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an explanation for his decision not to reintroduce Robert Lewandowski to his starting XI to face Club Brugge.
Veteran goalscorer Lewandowski was widely expected to slot back into Barcelona’s line-up for the evening on Wednesday.
This comes with the Pole having been introduced to proceedings off the bench against Elche over the weekend, before joining his manager in the pre-match press conference ahead of facing Club Brugge.
Speaking to the media ahead of kick-off in Belgium, Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on Lewandowski’s latest absence.
And Barca’s headmaster went on to explain:
“Lewandowski is still not ready to play the full match. Maybe half an hour or 45 minutes.”
Ferran Torres has instead been chosen to lead the line for the visitors to Jan Breydel Stadium, joined on either side by Marcus Rashford, and Lamine Yamal.
