Why Real Madrid have rejected chance to lift La Liga trophy at Granada this weekend

An insight into the reasoning behind the decision of Real Madrid not to lift the La Liga trophy this coming weekend has on Monday been forthcoming online.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, of course, are fresh off seeing their status as Spanish champions confirmed.

After their comfortable downing of Cádiz was followed by a Barcelona defeat at the hands of Girona, Real opened up an insurmountable 13-point advantage atop the table, with four games to play.

Los Blancos, as a result, had since been informed of the RFEF’s plan to hand over their record 36th La Liga trophy upon the capital giants making the trip to Los Cármenes to face Granada this Saturday.

As alluded to above, though, this proposal has been rejected out of hand by the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As per a report from El Chiringuito TV’s José Luis Sánchez, this comes with Real’s squad and coaching staff alike considering as much to be ‘inappropriate’.

Why? The fact that Granada are battling against relegation to the 2nd tier of Spanish football, a stellar show of ‘respect’ on the part of the champions.
