This comes amid confirmation that the defender is dealing with an ongoing fitness complaint.
Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday evening, when they welcomed Elche to Catalunya for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result, a needed return to winning ways following last weekend’s defeat to Real Madrid.
Cubarsí, however, was forced to watch on from the bench for the entirety of the 90 minutes.
Generally one of the first names on the Barca team sheet, this development came as something of a surprise.
Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of his young stopper’s omission against Elche was therefore put to Hansi Flick.
And the German tactician went on to reveal that Cubarsí was left out as a precaution, as the 18-year-old deals with a knock suffered during the October international break.
