Why Hansi Flick has asked 6 Barcelona stars to train away from his squad

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick requested for six members of the current first-team setup in Catalunya’s capital to train separately from the rest of his players on Tuesday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at the Ciutat Esportiva.

Barcelona are of course currently in the thick of pre-season preparations with a view to the fast-approaching 2026/27 campaign. Training drills and methods have therefore been ramped up a notch over recent days, as players inch towards full match fitness.

This step up gave rise to its first casualty on Monday, however, as Roony Bardghji was forced out of training with what was later revealed to be a torn ACL in his right knee.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of cautionary measures since being taken by Hansi Flick and his staff. As per a report from MD, all of Marc Casadó, Héctor Fort, Jofre Torrents, Tommy Marqués, Toni Fernández, and Guille Fernández were put through their paces in training away from their teammates earlier today.

The reason? All six are considered as being on the exit ramp, with the Blaugrana therefore keen to avoid a repeat of the Bardghji situation, which has forced the Swede to stay put for the season ahead.
