An explanation for the absence of Ferland Mendy from Real Madrid’s starting XI to face Getafe on Sunday has been provided.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course primed to return to action in short order.
Fresh off a disheartening 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool during the week, Los Blancos have turned attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Getafe.
Real’s line-up for the clash was unveiled a short time ago, with boss Ancelotti having opted to shake things up, by way of a quartet of changes.
One such switch has come at left-back, with Ferland Mendy dropping back to the bench, Fran García stepping in in his place.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much comes for good reason on the part of Ancelotti and co.
As revealed by Real Madrid insider Sergio Quirante of DAZN:
‘Mendy’s substitution is a technical decision. He has not been called up to start due to discomfort.’
