Barcelona sporting director Deco will not join the club’s playing squad on their upcoming journey to Asia.
That’s according to Blaugrana insider Victor Navarro, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad are primed to fly out to Japan at some point over the next 24 hours.
After finding a last-minute agreement with the tour’s organisers to go ahead with the trip as planned, the Spanish champions will make the trip to the city of Kobe for a friendly meeting with Vissel Kobe on Sunday.
As alluded to above, however, whilst a number of the club’s representatives will be in attendance on the pre-season tour, one individual who will not is Deco.
This comes with the Portuguese, fresh off tying up a deal for Marcus Rashford, now set to shift focus towards clearing out some of the deadwood from Hansi Flick’s ranks.
As per the aforementioned Victor Navarro:
‘Deco will stay in Barcelona, to continue the exit operation.’
