Why Barcelona’s equaliser vs Alavés was a historic goal

The first goal netted by La Liga champions Barcelona in the club’s meeting with Deportivo Alavés on Saturday came as a historic one.

This comes after Lamine Yamal levelled things up from close range.

Laid on by a cutback on the part of the returning Raphinha, the 18-year-old slotted home in confident fashion.

This marked the first goal ever scored by Lamine at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Widely considered to be the long-term future of Barcelona and Spanish football as a whole, this marked a defining moment in the early career of the Blaugrana sensation.

Lamine’s leveller has since been added to by Dani Olmo, to get Hansi Flick’s troops firmly back on track this evening.

Eyeing a swift return to winning ways after being condemned to an alarming defeat at the hands of Chelsea in midweek, Barca now lead Alavés by two goals to one, early in the 2nd-half in Catalunya’s capital.
