An insight into the reasoning behind La Liga champions Barcelona not yet registering new signing Joan García has this weekend been provided.
The info comes courtesy of RAC1, and confirms that, as things stand, the Blaugrana are unable to do so.
Goalkeeper Joan is for his part of course fresh off taking the biggest step of his career to date.
Following a dazzling campaign between the posts at Espanyol, the 24-year-old blocked out the outside noise, to put pen to paper on terms with Catalan rivals Barcelona.
Joan is expected to slot straight in as the Blaugrana’s new no.1 for next season, usurping both Wojciech Szczęsny, and Marc-André ter Stegen.
And yet, as alluded to above, as of this moment Joan is technically not in a position to take to the pitch in the colours of his new club.
As revealed by the reliable RAC1:
‘Barça will not return to the 1:1 rule until the beginning of next month. This means that they will still have to wait to register players, such as Joan Garcia.’
