A trio of Real Madrid stars are set to link up with new head coach Xabi Alonso later than the bulk of the club’s first-team squad next month.
That’s according to Blancos insider Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Real Madrid’s players will of course be afforded only a short holiday over the next couple of weeks.
This comes ahead of the club’s entry into the first-ever newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.
New head coach Xabi Alonso will make use of the limited training time in the buildup to the competition to run the rule over his new squad.
This stretch, in turn, will likely prove an important one when it comes to first impressions on the incoming Spaniard.
As alluded to above, though, three Blancos stars will nevertheless not be present during this time. Injured players aside, this trio comes in the form of Arda Güler, Vinícius Jr, and Andriy Lunin.
As per the aforementioned Miguel Ángel Díaz:
‘Vinícius, Güler, and Lunin will not train under Xabi Alonso until Sunday, June 15. They are playing with their national teams in America and will not return to Madrid. They will go directly to Miami.’
