La Liga giants Real Madrid were on Friday made aware of their path to the final of this season’s Champions League.
This comes fresh off Los Blancos being pitted against an altogether familiar foe in the competition’s Last-16.
Real of course kept their European campaign alive in midweek, courtesy of a 2-1 playoff victory over Portuguese outfit Benfica.
This meant a knockout round clash with one of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, or another Portuguese heavyweight, in Sporting CP.
In the end, in a surprise to none, it was the former whom Álvaro Arbeloa’s troops were tasked with besting.
Should Real Madrid send Man City packing, though, who is next up?
Another all-action affair would likely await in the quarter-finals, where Los Merengues would face off with the winners of the tie between Bayern Munich, and Atalanta.
Advance once again, and one of the following four clubs would then battle it out with the Champions League’s most successful side for a place in the Budapest showpiece:
Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Liverpool or Galatasaray.
