When do Barcelona expect Gavi to return to the pitch?

An insight into the planned return of Barcelona star Gavi to competitive duties with the club has on Thursday come to the fore online.

This comes amid confirmation that, should all go according to plan over the weeks ahead, the midfielder should be back at Hansi Flick’s disposal at some point in February.

Youngster Gavi was for his part condemned to a fresh stretch away from the pitch back in September.

As much came upon the Barcelona medical team making the call to send the 21-year-old under the knife, for a knee operation.

Gavi suffered a problem in the same knee in which he previously tore the ACL during the early weeks of the campaign, with the Blaugrana having been understandably keen to take no chances.

The Spanish international has spent the time since working tirelessly behind the scenes, with a view to taking his place back on the pitch as soon as possible.

And as alluded to above, this week, an insight into when this is likely to take place has been forthcoming.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Gavi could be recovered by February and may be available for the Champions League play-off round in case Barça does not reach the Top 8.’
