An insight into the deadline in place for Barcelona to register summer signing Joan García for the opening fixture of the club’s 2025/26 campaign has on Wednesday been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, and confirms that the Blaugrana have some time yet to get their affairs in order…
Barcelona are currently awaiting a response from La Liga’s medical committee regarding goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s recent surgery.
Deco and co. are hopeful that as much will see it agreed that the German’s incoming absence is set to be significant enough for his wages to be used on further player registrations.
This would open the door for Ter Stegen’s replacement, the aforementioned Joan García, to be registered for league play.
Just how tight, though, could Barca cut it to ensure that the 24-year-old is available for this weekend’s season opener against Mallorca?
As per a report from MD:
‘The deadline to register the Catalan goalkeeper extends until the minutes are submitted for the match scheduled for next Saturday at 7:30 p.m. That is, until both clubs provide the referee with the final minutes of the players called up (starting and substitutes) for the match.’
