What Hansi Flick told Lamine Yamal after substitution vs Real Betis

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed the details of the exchange between he and Lamine Yamal upon the latter being hauled off in the club’s latest outing.

Winger Lamine of course played a starring role on Saturday night, as Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the new season.

En route to a 5-2 victory over Real Betis, the 19-year-old opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, before also laying on an assist amid a wonderful all-round showing.

20 minutes from time, Lamine was then hooked from proceedings, replaced by the returning Raphinha.

The young attacker has looked visibly frustrated upon seeing his number flash across the fourth official’s board in previous outings this term, but on this occasion, Lamine appeared more composed as he exchanged words with manager Hansi Flick on the touchline.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, Flick was therefore drawn on what exactly he said to his prodigious attacker. And the German went on to explain:

“When I subbed Lamine out, I told him that I’m very proud of him, very proud. And that he played a great game.”
