West Ham in ‘advanced talks’ to land departing Real Betis star

Premier League outfit West Ham United are closing on the signature of a recently-departed member of the midfield ranks at Real Betis.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Guido Rodríguez as the player in question.

Argentine international Guido has of course seen his name dominate the Spanish media headlines across much of the summer to date.

As much comes after the deep-lying midfielder came to the decision not to renew his expiring contract terms with the aforementioned Real Betis.

Links with the likes of Barcelona and Atlético Madrid followed, before both La Liga giants ultimately opted to pursue alternative targets.

And, as alluded to above, as much is now understood to have opened the door for one of the Premier League’s most recognisable clubs to swoop.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:

‘West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Guido Rodríguez as [a] free agent! Negotiations ongoing with player’s camp after he left Real Betis.’

Guido does have other options on the table, but appears to be giving priority to West Ham as things stand.
