New Barcelona signing João Cancelo was afforded a traditional welcome back to the club’s ranks on Wednesday morning.
This came by way of a ‘tunnel of slaps’ on the part of his teammates.
Full-back Cancelo is of course fresh off sealing a Barcelona reunion, after penning terms with his former employers through the close of the campaign earlier this week.
On Wednesday, the Portuguese therefore linked up with the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad at the Ciutat Esportiva for the first time.
And as alluded to above, Cancelo was early in the training session afforded a traditional welcome, courtesy of the long-practiced tunnel of slaps:
Cancelo’s first appearance back in Barca colours comes on the eve of the Spanish champions’ next fixture.
Fresh off defending their Supercopa title over the weekend, Flick and co. are primed to kick their Copa del Rey campaign back into gear, in a meeting with 2nd-tier Racing Club.
Drawn on his new signing’s potential participation in the matchup this afternoon, Barca’s headmaster admitted:
“João Cancelo can have some minutes tomorrow.”
