The latest incoming addition to the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday arrived to pen his contract with the club. The player in question? João Cancelo.
Defender Cancelo has of course been heavily linked with a Camp Nou comeback throughout the summer to date. After he impressed during a 2nd loan stint with Barcelona during the 2nd half of last season, the Portuguese was identified as a leading transfer target on the part of fellow countryman Deco and his team of Blaugrana directors.
Cancelo had since been forced to link back up with Saudi outfit Al-Hilal following his campaign at the World Cup, all the while hoping for an agreement to be found on a contract termination.
After word was forthcoming that precisely as much had come to fruition on Sunday, the 32-year-old therefore wasted little time in making the trip to Catalunya’s capital.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, Cancelo has been spotted back in his new permanent home of Barcelona for the first time.
