This comes amid confirmation of negotiations being kicked into gear between the parties, over a contract renewal.
The player in line for an impending extension to his terms? Fermín López.
Youngster Fermín has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines not only in Catalunya’s capital, but across all of Spain, this summer.
As much comes after the 21-year-old, first, was part of Spain’s triumphant squad at Euro 2024.
Then, adding to as much, Fermín proved himself the star of the show, notching six goals en route to La Roja securing gold at the Olympic Games, too.
Such exploits, fresh off a stellar breakout season at club level, have not gone at all unappreciated on the part of those behind the scenes at Barcelona.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of the Blaugrana readying a new-and-improved contract for Fermín.
As showcased in the footage below, the player’s agent was on Wednesday evening spotted departing Barca’s base.
As per a report from Jijantes:
‘Deco met this morning with Fermín López’s agent to continue making progress on the Barça player’s renewal.
‘Barça wants to protect Fermín from the interest of many clubs. And that is what they will do.’
