Vitor Roque injury update before Barcelona vs Almería

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has come to the fore on Wednesday.

Frontman Roque, for his part, was of course subjected to another disappointing evening this past Monday.

As much came upon the Brazilian international being left on the bench for the entirety of Barcelona’s La Liga victory over Real Sociedad.

Post-match, however, head coach Xavi went on to attribute Roque’s latest snub to an ankle issue suffered in training in the days prior:

“He was a doubt until the last minute due to a blow to the ankle. He was wrapped in cotton wool. That’s why he didn’t even warm up.”

So, with Barca set for a swift return to action on Thursday night, in a meeting with the already-relegated Almería, what is Roque’s status?

If the latest images stemming from the Blaugrana’s training base are anything to go by, the 19-year-old appears to have enjoyed a full recovery.

This comes with Roque, along with the returning Ronald Araújo, having trained normally alongside the rest of Xavi’s ranks.
