RCD Mallorca are close to snatching their leading managerial target away from one of the club’s La Liga rivals.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Marca, who point towards the tactician in question coming in the form of Jagoba Arrasate.
Arrasate’s future on the touchline has of course long been the subject of widespread chatter in the Spanish media.
As much comes after the 46-year-old announced that he had come to the decision not to renew his expiring terms with Osasuna.
A whole host of La Liga clubs, in turn, were credited with an interest in Arrasate’s services.
And, if the latest word to have surfaced on Wednesday is anything to go by, it would appear that one such suitor are closing on the appointment of the Spaniard.
As per the aforementioned MD, the board at Mallorca are in ‘very advanced’ talks with Arrasate and his entourage, over the terms of a contract at Son Moix.
This comes ahead of the imminent exit of current Bermellones headmaster Javier Aguirre.
The change on the bench in Mallorca is expected to be made official upon the club’s La Liga permanence being mathematically (and imminently) confirmed.
