Vitor Roque arrives in Barcelona ahead of official move to La Liga giants

Vitor Roque has now arrived in Barcelona to begin his Barcelona career. The 18-year-old, accompanied by his family, touched down in the early hours of Wednesday morning to great excitement.

It was Barcelona who released the first images of the player after he was hidden from view while he went through the airport. Roque is expected to take part in his first training session with his new club on December 29 as Barcelona prepare for their first match of 2024 against UD Las Palmas, where they will hope to build on their most recent 3-2 win over Almería.

The Barcelona fans will be able to get their first glimpse of their new player in an open training session that will take place on December 30 in the Estadi Johan Cruyff before his official presentation, which is expected to take place on January 3 (as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo)

Speaking to the media, Roque spoke of his excitement as he prepares for life at his new club, “I am so happy. It’s a dream come true. I want to learn everything I can from the group, enjoy it, and, as always, score. It’s been my dream ever since I was a little kid. To be here now only makes me more anxious to win everything and help my team any way I can.”

Barcelona will hope that this new signing will ease pressure up front, as the side have struggled to convert chances all season. Roque can also play on the wing, and there is a possibility that he may appear in the starting line-up together with Robert Lewandowski.
