Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has this week moved to assure that he remains fully committed to the cause in Spain’s capital.
This of course comes amid long-standing speculation surrounding the Brazilian’s future in the colours of Real Madrid.
Vinícius provided fans across the globe with a timely reminder of his unquestionable talents on Tuesday night, in a Champions League meeting with AS Monaco.
En route to a 6-1 drubbing, the 25-year-old racked up a goal and three assists to clinch the Man of the Match award.
Speaking to the media following the full-time whistle, the subject of his plans for the future was therefore put to Vinícius himself once more.
The winger’s contract terms are as things stand due to expire in the summer of 2026, with little progress having been made in negotiations regarding a renewal.
If his latest comments are anything to go by, though, then ‘Viní’ appears to want nothing more than to stay a Real Madrid player for many years to come:
“I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. My renewal? I have another year left. We’re very relaxed. I trust the president, he trusts me, we have a very good relationship. We will sort things out in the right time. No hurry.”
