When all was said and done, Les Bleus emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result.
And it was their captain and talisman who rounded out the scoring on the evening, courtesy of a brilliantly-taken 2nd-half goal.
Result aside, this strike, as alluded to above, also proved a significant one when it comes to the history of the French national team.
This comes with Mbappé having now joined Thierry Henry as the 2nd-highest goalscorer ever for his country.
And as alluded to above, quick to make clear his delight for the former Paris Saint-Germain standout post-match was Vinícius Jr.
