Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has sent a message of intent the way of the club’s fanbase, regarding the upcoming Club World Cup.

This comes amid the assuranc that Los Blancos have not travelled for the tournament simply to take part.

Real Madrid’s adventure at the newly-formatted Club World Cup will be kicked into gear this coming Wednesday.

A debut meeting with Saudi outfit Al-Hilal lies in wait, in Miami, Florida.

The aforementioned Vinícius Jr. for his part linked up with his teammates with a view to the fixture on Sunday, after seeing out his international commitments with Brazil.

And if the latest comments on the part of the 24-year-old are anything to go by, then Xabi Alonso’s squad appear to have set their sights firmly on glory at the Club World Cup.

Speaking during an interview with Real Madrid’s official TV channel, as cited by Marca, late on Sunday, Vinícius assured:

“We’re eager to win this first Club World Cup because people never forget the first one, and it’s the only title Real Madrid doesn’t have. We’re going for it.”
