Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has revealed that he followed the wishes of club president Florentino Pérez to a tee in Sunday’s Madrid Derby.
This of course comes fresh off a match-winning performance on the part of the Brazilian.
Real Madrid marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Diego Simeone’s Atlético to the Bernabéu for a La Liga clash.
And en route to an eventual 3-2 Blancos triumph, Vinícius stepped up when his teammates needed him most.
The 25-year-old was responsible for levelling the score early in the 2nd-half, from the penalty spot. Vinícius then followed up with the game’s decisive goal inside the closing 20 minutes, courtesy of a brilliant strike from the edge of the area.
Speaking to the media post-match, the gifted winger was therefore drawn on the inspiration behind his Man of the Match exploits.
And Vinícius went on to explain:
“The president Florentino Pérez always tells me to score 2 goals… So that’s what I did today!”
