Vinícius Jr. equals all-time Cristiano Ronaldo record in Real Madrid vs Man City

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has on Wednesday night secured for himself a piece of club history.

This comes owing to the Brazilian international’s exploits during Los Blancos’ Champions League meeting with Manchester City.

Real are of course currently locked in action on the continent, in a Last-16 first-leg clash with Pep Guardiola’s Man City.

As things stand, Álvaro Arbeloa’s troops are in firm control of proceedings, leading by three goals to nil.

Federico Valverde, remarkably, was responsible for all three of the hosts’ goals, inside the opening 45 minutes in Spain’s capital.

Vinícius Jr, meanwhile, was credited with the assist for his teammate’s 2nd, despite a deflection on the ball on its way through.

And owing to as much, the winger has continued to etch his name indellibly into the history books…

With 31 to his name, Vinícius has levelled Cristiano Ronaldo as the player with the most assists ever for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
