Villarreal handed injury boost ahead of Celta Vigo clash

La Liga outfit Villarreal have on Thursday been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments at the Yellow Submarine’s training ground.

Villarreal are currently in the thick of preparations for their return to action this coming Sunday, when Marcelino’s troops will make the trip to Balaídos for a meeting with Celta Vigo.

Still clinging to hopes of securing European football for next season, the matchup marks something of a must-win for the Castellón club.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a boost to all associated with Villarreal to hear that, earlier today, a headline member of the club’s defensive ranks returned to the fray.

The player in question? Eric Bailly.

Stopper Bailly, for his part, has been sidelined since all the way back in mid-March, owing to a muscular injury suffered during a Europa League meeting with Olympique de Marseille.

As per the aforementioned MD, though, the former Manchester United man was back in training alongside the rest of Marcelino’s squad earlier today.

It is therefore not out of the question that Bailly could be called up for matchday duties against Celta Vigo on Sunday.
