Valencia vs Real Madrid declared a ‘high risk’ fixture

This weekend’s upcoming meeting between Valencia and Real Madrid has been labelled as ‘high risk’ by the necessary authorities.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Valencia, and Real, are of course set to lock horns as part of the latest round of La Liga fixtures this weekend.

The matchup will play out at the Mestalla, late in the evening of Saturday, March 2nd.

Chatter surrounding the clash has long been mounting in the media, owing to the developments which played out upon Real making the trip to the Mestalla for the same fixture last season.

The outing ultimately proved to be one of the darkest in the recent history of Spanish football, as Blancos star Vinícius Jr. was subjected to a disgusting series of racial insults by sections of the home crowd.

With confirmation having been forthcoming earlier this week that the Valencia brass have since denied Netflix access to their ground amid ongoing filming for a documentary surrounding Vinícius, tensions, in turn, are beginning to mount once more.

And, as per the aforementioned Sport, as much has culminated in the matchup being labelled as high risk by ‘both the Ministry of the Interior and the Anti-Violence Commission’.

A more plentiful police presence than usual, as a result, will be deployed at the Mestalla on Saturday evening.
