Valencia star hit with two-game ban

La Liga outfit Valencia have on Tuesday been with a blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that midfield star Pepelu is set for an incoming spell in the stands.

Los Che marked their return to action last night, with Pepelu, alongside his teammates, having endured an evening to forget.

Amid what has proven a dismal opening to the campaign, Valencia were put to the sword by three goals to two, at home to Las Palmas.

Pepelu, meanwhile, was given his marching orders midway through the 2nd-half, for lashing out at Kirian off the ball.

As per the referee’s official report, cited by Mundo Deportivo:

‘Pepelu was sent off in the 69th minute for repelling a push from an opponent by hitting him in the face with his hand, when the ball was not in play.’

And, 24 hours, the Spaniard has learned the punishment for his offence.

As per MD:

‘The RFEF Disciplinary Committee has accepted the referee’s report by Jesús Gil Manzano and has suspended the footballer for two games.’
