Valencia open talks over another midfield signing

The efforts of those behind the scenes at La Liga outfit Valencia to add to the club’s midfield options have on Wednesday continued.

This comes amid confirmation that Los Che have kicked into gear negotiations over another potential signing.

The subject of incoming midfield reinforcements has dominated the headlines at Mestalla over the last 24 hours.

This comes after word was forthcoming that Valencia have tied up an agreement with Stade Rennais to bring in Baptiste Santamaria.

With a ‘6’ on the way in, though, the Mestalla brass remain on the hunt for a more box-to-box profile to add to Carlos Corberán’s ranks.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then the ideal target now appears to have been identified.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Valencia CF are in negotiations for the signing of Swiss midfielder Filip Ugrinic. The Young Boys international has a contract until June 2026, but the Swiss club would welcome his departure.’
