La Liga outfit Valencia have opened negotiations over the signing of on-loan Celta Vigo star Unai Núñez.
This comes amid the understanding that the Spaniard is open to the possibility of returning to his home country for the 2nd half of the campaign.
Núñez has for his part spent the season to date plying his trade in Italy, with Serie A outfit Hellas Verona.
The 28-year-old has racked up 17 appearances, 15 of which came from the off.
Despite his importance in Verona’s backline, however, the option of Núñez’s loan being cut short is seemingly not out of the question.
This comes amid mounting interest in his services across the La Liga landscape.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto, Valencia are the latest club to have positioned themselves in the running for Núñez’s signing.
Not only that, but the Mestalla brass have gone as far as to kickstart discussions over the terms of a deal.
