Mundo Deportivo report that Valencia expect an offer from Lyon for French striker Kevin Gameiro in the coming days.

Gameiro has been on Lyon’s radar at least twice already in his career: in the summer of 2013, before being sold by PSG to Sevilla, and then in the summer of 2017: when he was under contract with Atletico Madrid and Lyon looked for a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

The 32-year-old has the same agent as Lyon manager Rudi Garcia. His contract at Mestalla runs until 2021, however he may be interested in a move ahead of EURO 2020, even though he has not been picked by Didier Deschamps since March 2017. Valencia head coach Alberto Celades has put his faith in Maxi Gómez ahead of the Frenchman.
