Valencia could offload goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen this summer

Valencia could sell goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen this summer, according to AS.

Cillessen joined Valencia last summer from Barcelona for €35m but has lost his starting place to Jaume Doménech and Los Che aim to reduce their wage bill.

The Dutch netminder earns €11m a year, which is approximately seven percent of the club’s player budget. The Primera outfit are reportedly looking for €26.25m to sell the 31-year-old, who has been linked with a move back to Ajax, while clubs from Italy are also reportedly interested.

Under current head coach Albert Celades, Cillessen has played 19 games from the start (plus three with ex-boss Marcelino). Goalkeeper Jaume Doménech has kept five clean sheets to Cillessen’s four, as defence has been a problem area for Valencia this season, with 57 goals conceded in the 36 games under Celades.
