Valencia closing on deal for Mallorca star

La Liga rivals Valencia and RCD Mallorca are closing on a deal for an incoming player transfer.

That’s according to journalist Nacho Sanchis, who points towards Copete as the player at the centre of the discussions.

Defender Copete for his part played an important role for Mallorca this past season, on his way to 25 appearances in Spain’s top-flight.

And along the way, the 25-year-old evidently did enough to impress those behind the scenes at Mestalla.

On the lookout for reinforcements at the back following Cristhian Mosquera’s departure for Arsenal, Valencia, in turn, recently kicked into gear talks over a summer deal for Copete.

And as alluded to above, late this week, these negotiations appear to be inching towards a positive outcome for Los Che.

As per a report from Nacho Sanchis:

‘Valencia and Mallorca have moved closer to an agreement for Copete in recent hours. Yesterday, new discussions took place, and the rapport is positive. Valencia have increased their offer from 2.8M, and Mallorca continue to negotiate while accepting that a deal is imminent.’
