Valencia boss Rubén Baraja responds to interest from Atlético Madrid for Cristhian Mosquera

Valencia Manager Rubén Baraja spoke to the press ahead of his side’s match against Deportivo Alavés on Sunday.

One of the topics he spoke about was the incoming interest from Atlético Madrid regarding his side’s young defender Cristhian Mosquera.

As per El Desmarque, the Valencia boss said, “I do not have that information and I am not going to waste my time on this type of thing.”

He then later clarified, “I am focused on the sporting side of things and Mosquera has to be in that dynamic. His season has been fantastic in every way, logically that can draw attention from other teams. But he is a Valencia player and he has to focus on the last five games and not think about anything else.”

The 19-year-old centre-back has started every La Liga game for his side since October, proving himself to be invaluable as part of the Valencia back line.

His success has brought interest from England, France, Italy and of course, Spain. He is currently valued at €15 million, making him one of the most valuable players in the Valencia squad.
