An oft-overlooked member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week been christened the club’s ‘silent leader’.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.
Youngster Casadó was for his part in from the off on Sunday night, as Barcelona played host to Valencia in a La Liga clash.
The Spanish international stepped into the Blaugrana’s XI amid the absence of the sidelined Frenkie de Jong.
And Casadó took full advantage of the latest opportunity afforded to him.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, the deep-lying midfielder was a constant source of excellence from his berth in the middle of the park.
Neat and tidy on the ball and relentless when required off it, Casadó provided those who may have forgotten with a timely reminder of his unquestionable talents.
And as alluded to above, such exploits have since earned for the 22-year-old a new title in Hansi Flick’s squad.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Marc Casadó has had another performance that cements his position as Barça’s silent leader.’
