Two leading members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have emerged as doubts to feature in the club’s next outing.
This comes owing to developments in Los Blancos’ derby meeting with Atlético Madrid on Thursday night.
Real are of course fresh off booking their spot in the finale of the Spanish Super Cup.
This came by way of a hard-fought 2-1 downing of Diego Simeone’s Atléti in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A showpiece clash with arch rivals Barcelona therefore lies in wait for Xabi Alonso’s troops, on Sunday evening.
As alluded to above, though, in efforts to wrestle the title of Super Cup champions away from the Blaugrana, Real Madrid could well be forced to make do without two key performers.
As per a report from Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, after both featured from the off in the derby on Thursday:
‘Rüdiger and Rodrygo are doubtful for the final, according to the club.’
